With today’s busy schedule and the sun also spreading harmful UV rays, getting a natural outdoor tan is not an easy and convenient thing to get nowadays. So forget getting tanned outdoors and simply rely on bronzers and sunless tanners to get that tanned glow.

There are two categories under which Sun tan products generally fall. One kind is the bronzers that are easily washed off like normal makeup. And then there are sunless tanners that stain the skin and fade off with time. Dermatologists even suggest their patients get these tanners to get more color to their skin instead of natural sun tanning. Dermatologists are not in favor of getting tanning by being exposed to UV rays. There are many kinds of tanners available in the market, such as the Sun Tan Lotions, which come in many kinds and are super convenient to use.

Cosmetic lotions and other wash-off products: These products add a natural tanned glow to your face, legs, and wherever you wish to add a little glow. These are easy to wash off with simple soap and water. You can use these lotions to add a special tanning glow during special occasions.

Normal tanning lotions: These are the most convenient of all. You can apply it wherever you want and in whichever amount you want to. It is easy to wash off too. One can apply it on the cheekbones, collarbones, tip of the nose, or wherever else you want.

Lotions in the form of gel gels: Unlike the normal lotion, gels are a little bit difficult to apply. So it can also affect the results.

Spray lotions: These bronzers are easy to apply and just a convenient amount of spray on the legs, hands, and neck, and it will give the desired sun tan effect you wanted. One can also do it after the application of makeup.

Stick lotions: These are similar to deodorant sticks that you can apply with a stroke on your legs, face, neck wherever you wish to get that spiced-up glow and warmth. One can also use a concealer with stick bronzers to hide some scars and marks. It is best to let these bronzers dry before applying anything else over them.

Most sunless tanning products such as Tanning lotions, Bronzers, sprays, gels contain dihydroxyacetone, and it is a kind of sugar that is quite safe to use. The way it works is that it interacts with the proteins present in the epidermis, which is the outermost layer of the skin, and creates a darker shade or causes fake tanning. The tan then fades off on its own within three to seven days as the cells start to slough off. These products can be easily found in drugstores or cosmetic brands. There are certain ways to prep up the skin before tanning. Waxing or shaving the day before is necessary to prep it up. Exfoliation is necessary, and it is advisable to not apply any moisturizer or lotion so as to prevent any reaction to the skin.

So skip going out under the direct exposure of the UV rays and get a natural tan-like effect at home.
