Expressing the feeling of "calm" in various forms, from peaceful and relaxed calm in the upper left to a more enthusiastic and excited calm in the lower right. I tried to express with the pattern that the feeling of "calm" is often rather complex and nuanced; more complex than people always realize. The colors were chosen because they exemplify this set of emotions for me, they remind me of times when I was calm and they help me feel more calm just looking at them. In addition, the colors are inherently more lawful good than chaotic good in my eyes. Because this is an experience of a feeling, I have added darkening around the edges which mimic how I perceive such things in my mind's eye. 

There are many facets of "calm" and there are many things going on emotionally which result in a feeling of being calm, as well as many reasons and situations which can elicit the response. I want this piece to elicit feelings in calm in the viewer, and I hope it does so in you.
