We are !bang, a design studio of Architects and Puzzle lovers. This time we present LAYERBLOCKS, 3d printable puzzles & panels, for download, print and play! Makers will design their collection, choosing colors and sizes, printing unique pieces.
The idea is to make them with standard FDM 3d printers, today they are super accesible tools. LAYERBLOCKS are downloable .stl files that can be cutomized with filament colors, super easy to print and came directly out of the printer. The maker will choose the size and the number of pieces, making a 3x3 super easy puzzle to play with children or becoming a master with a 5x5 super hard challenge. For not a puzzle lovers, they can enjoy all the making process printing WALL-ART PANELS !! A great way to create beautifull design objects for decoration of any place! You only need a 20x20x20 normal sized printer to make it by parts.
Layering technique open a world of possibilities, only one extruder needed to customize every puzzle, adding Print-Stops to change the colors, making surfaces look different. We used Parametric Design, the patterns are made with Computational Alghoritms creating 3D surfaces. Also we printed and tested every piece to be super easy to print.
ECO-FRIENDLY facts: panels are printed with NO supports, this means they use only the material needed for fabrication achieving NO waste production. NO shipping makes NO energy waste to sending the products and there will be NO overstocks. Every piece will be made contributing to reduce CO2 and printing with PLA makers will be making eco-friendly & recyclable products.
Our last goal is to get kids curious and interested with STEM concepts by challenging them to enter into the design and making process of the physical toy, learning about 3d printers and slicer softwares too. We believe that the combination of play, design and 3d printing will help children develop thinking skills, providing interaction with friends and family.
