Nespresso Pod Coffee Maker
The Brief was to develop a nespresso pod machine with the visual aesthetic of a well known car manufacturer. The brand chosen was BMW, and inspiration was ascertained from three different legacies, the classic BMW’s of the 1950’s and 1960’s, Chris Bangle’s flame surfacing BMW’s and the Futurist interpretations being developed through model’s such as the I8.
Based on the initial ideation, 3d models were developed as the basis to develop new designs
BY USING THESE MODELS AS A BASE, NEW IDEAS AND CONCEPTS CAN BE GENERATED, BY DRAWING OVER THESE MEDIUM
Based on the next stage of ideation, 3d models were developed as the basis to develop new designs, more in line with the visual aesthetic of a coffee machine, by drawing over the models and making the physical modifications
Based on the concept sketches, models were created to represent a realistic interpretation of a BMW Nespresso Machine.
The Final Concept was chosen to develop the Coffee Machine, as it entailed the innovative nature of both brands, through the use of technology which allows the drinking glass to filled through a false bottom. This design reflected the BMW aesthetic to highest degree possible, where you could place it next a flame surfacing model or an I8 and it would feel at home.
