Logo and Branding

CHALLENGE
Create a logo, branding and packaging design for the Lectron inverter generator range. The challenge was to create a brand that was both “manly” and yet didn’t resort to the tired clichés of metallic colours or chequer plate patterns.
 
SOLUTION
After extensive research into power tools and a field trip to the local Bunnings, it was decided that the yellow, light blue, black and white colour palette would form the most coherent scheme and stand out against the greens and reds of the competitors. A ‘design language’ that centred around the sharp triangles of the lightning bolt was the guiding force behind the concept.
 
RESULT
A simple bit striking colour palette coupled with the electric logo and bolt. A definite stand-out. An adjustment of the blue to a darker version was made for the later darker blue generator models.
