Invisible Cities is a novel by Italian writer Italo Calvino.
The project want typography is to visually explore each of the cities, reflecting their characteristics and idiosyncrasies.
This novel describes a total of fifty-five cities, all those cities seem to reflect some social problems in the real world. I was inspired by these fictional cities. I designed this book to be the same size as the paper map. when readers read this book, they would feel like a tourist exploring an unfamiliar city by relying on the map. Another feature of this book is its foldability. Readers can choose to open one of the chapters or both at the same time.
This book includes title page and introduction, plus four tales.
看不见的城市是意大利作家伊塔罗·卡尔维诺的文学作品之一。
这个项目的要求是在排版上以视觉化的方式探索每个城市并反映出它们的特点与气质。
看不见的城市这本小说讲述了五十五个虚构的城市，这五十五个城市似乎都在反映着现实世界中的一些社会问题。我的灵感就来源于这些虚构的城市。我将这本书设计成与地图手册同样大小的尺寸，当读者阅读经我设计的这本书时就像一名游客正在依靠着地图在一座陌生的城市中探索。这本书的另一个特点在于它的可折叠性。读者可以选择打开其中一个章节进行阅读或者同时打开两个章节来进行阅读。
我设计的这本书包括扉页、简介页和四个故事页。
