Designer's Choice

For this assignment, we were tasked with creating three types of book covers for the Hobbit By JRR Tolkien. This is my Designers choice one. I think this is my favorite one. I used mostly photoshop and DIY YouTube videos. I wanted to show my interpretation of one of the lessons from the book being that Bilbo started at the very beginning, namely his home and showing that they had the end goal in mind even at the very beginning. I also wanted to show it as if he was walking through the O in the Hobbit as he's beginning his journey.

Typographical Cover

With this one, again I wanted to show as if the O was coming from the title to you and Bilbo walking through it as if it transformed into the doorway. At least that was my intent when I started it. I'm pretty pleased and proud with both these considering I started from scratch. So far in the semester, these two are my pride to brag about.

Physical Cover

For this one we were tasked with creating a physical book cover of how we interpreted the Hobbit Book. Although the country side image didn't work the way I wanted, this is symbolizing Bilbo taking his first steps on his journey.
