Drawing parallels between the virtual world encapsulated within our mobile devices and our actual physical existence, you realise the architecture of the real world is undeniably similar to the ones within each application on our devices. While physical movement is how we commute within tangible spaces, it is our consciousness that drives around in intangible spaces within the digital realm.

They claim that the manipulation of human behaviour for profit is coded into these companies with Machiavellian precision: Infinite scrolling and push notifications keep users constantly engaged; personalized recommendations use data not just to predict but also to influence our actions, turning users into easy prey for advertisers and propagandists.
