During April of 2021, I found myself inadvertently structuring my work around the parameters set by social media platforms, specifically Instagram. Through trying to navigate these restrictions and centering my work around their specifications, I realized that I unintentionally focused on the aspects around my photos, as opposed to the actual subject - in order for an optimal crop.
This unconscious process became a meditation on the culture surrounding social media, and curating an online life, often missing the point of the intended moment completely. These four images I've created were crafted unknowingly, as I myself fell into this two way mirror.
