ITP- Weight Lifting shoot.
My Third shoot was weight lifting. This was the only shoot which was slightly complicated as the original model I planned to shoot for this wasn't available, he did however suggest a friend who then put me in touch with his friend who's a female weight lifter.
Before my shoot I created a new mood board to help generate ideas of what shots I wanted to achieve.
Below are my best shots from the shoot.
I like this picture as even though it appears to not show any motion, if you look closely you can see that her hair is slightly out of focus which suggests motion is taking place.
I like this picture as in the mirror behind her you can see multiple reflections of her which help make the Image look interesting as well as appear to have a 3D effect.
This is a nice shot as she is frozen in motion her focus on dumbbell in the air, which immediately draws the viewer onto it when they look at the image.
I love this picture as the subject is the main focus with nothing distracting in the background, there is also eye contact with the subject and the camera, which makes it eye-catching to the viewer as it looks like she's looking right at you.
I find this picture fascinating as the shot is frozen in time. After she drops the barbells, they appear to be floating on air, whilst she stares down at them. Adding to this is the two reflections that add an abstract feel to the image.
I like this picture as its clear what her sport is, with the weight in her hands, the weight bar in the corner of the picture as well as the setting she's in, viewers will be able to quickly identify what sport she's doing.
This shoot was successful despite having some problems first with the lighting, which I managed to resolve. The second was trying to not get my own reflection in the mirrors, I dodged this by either shooting low or angling the camera so you only get the models reflection in the mirror.
my next stage is to see which will work in both formats of my posters as well as with my other sports.
