What is Maskuline?
The title of the exhibit, "Maskuline", is simply a wordplay on mask and masculine. The reason behind the play on words is that most males who do not fit the socially constructed masculine ideals are known to wear a metaphorical mask which they use to portray an image of masculinity that society would deem acceptable and appropriate for their assigned sex at birth.
