Above is a wood block print that I had done about how the Syrian Civil War affected children. Below, I have shown things that children enjoy like swings, sand castles etc. and above is broken buildings and darkness. I have shown the transition of children from being happy and enjoying their childhood to seeing ruins and being a part of the war. The silhouette of children jumping and the sun shining above are symbols to show that even though their worlds have changed so much, the children never lose hope and always look at the bright side of things. The wood cut is on the left and the print is on the right. It was done using ink, roller, mdf board, paper and marker.
