About the project
In 2010, I built a augmented reality game in collaboration with a interaction design student at l'Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique. This project was awarded during the Virtual Fantasy Demo contest at Laval Virtual, an international virtual reality event in France. 

Goal
The opportunity was to use AR technology to enhance the gameplay. It deals with game design, real time 3D and augmented reality.

Design process
Laz’s Quest is a design concept mixing virtual gaming experience with tangible board games feelings.
As a group of two students, we splitted the work based on the project's timeline and delivery date. First, I started on the concept art of the main character and the environment based on a graphical watch. Secondly, I designed the level and game mechanisms of the platformer. Then, I did the 3D modelisation, rigging, texturing and animation of one of the two protagonists. I created the userflow and designed the UI assets for the start, defeat and victory stages. I did the technical specifications of tangible cubes and delegated the production to a carpenter. Finally, I moderated a playtest with my collaborator and the participation of more than 10 users at Laval Virtual, Mayenne.
