Justice is Dead
The goal of this project was to illustrate a social justice of my choice, and I chose gun control. I was inspired by the phrase "Justice is Dead" so I decided to draw that literally to serve as a metaphor for gun control. Lady Liberty represents that too much freedom can be bad with people using and abusing guns.

What I like most about this piece is the coloring. Using oil pastels was difficult but being able to convey subtle shading and tone is a big plus and I loved the result. Plus, to make the marks smoother, I smudged the pastels with a hand-cloth I had handy.
