This magazine is created to inspire, encourage, and highlight the creativity of individuals, small business, and culture that, majority of the time, go unseen. The goal of this magazine is to be focused primarily on fashion while also highlighting the people that wear, create, support, and inspire fashion. Human&Kind is a magazine filled with clothes, fun colors, accessories, trends and patterns displayed in unique way to bring spunk to any mundane day. As well as the magazine being a creative piece of work designed and displayed visually, Human&Kind wants to focus on making fashion sustainable by highlighting reusable fashion and small business. This magazine will be a compilation of latest trends, colors and patterns, individual interviews on personal style, small business interviews, and information articles of sustainable. A fashion magazine hoping to inspire and encourage others, with people as the focus and fashion as the passion.
This magazine grew me as a designer by pushing me to write all my own content (with the exception of the "Theres No Planet B" article by Jessica Green), inspire and take my own photographs, illustrate and design a cohesive magazine design.
Magazine Takeaways
Creating this magazine brought a lot of different emotions. Sometimes I was very frustrated at the outcome and other times I would be overjoyed with how it was coming a lot. Overall, I enjoyed the entirety of this process of designing Human&Kind. This is something that I want to do in the future, and this was very good introduction to publication design and the process behind printed work. I would love to for this magazine to be something that I could make a second issue or continue to add to this one. This project has pushed me so much as a creator and I have learned so much from this project. This magazine has pushed me to grow in my knowledge in Indesign, where before this project I used to avoid Indesign.
