A collection of prototypes produced to practice the basic model making skills required for my degree.
A fully working portable USB phone charger.
1:2 scale humane mouse trap project:
The product has a trap door mechanism, so when the mouse pushes the door open it can't exit once the one way door has shut.
The top half was designed to be translucent so the user knows when the trap has been succesful. They can then slide the top off from the bottom and the rodent will fall out from the back. This way the user doesnt have to come into contact with the mouse and it can be cleaned easily.
1:1 scale of my Smirnoff bottle that holds 100ml of liquid.
I used both plastic fabrication and vacum forming for this protoype.
Plastic Fabrication: Floppy disk box
This was made by making an MDF mould and layering high impact polystrene (HIPS)
Turning exercise: Chess piece
Made using a lathe
