This was a poster created for a celebration of glass casting events. I chose the thick, but fun-looking typeface Hobo STD to cut from wood and then sand-cast in glass. Although I had planned on using the actual glass cast of the letters in the poster, I found that the photographs of the process provided a far more dramatic effect.
Although I had originally wanted to use individual sandcast letters, the glow of the molten glass and the lack of precision in this particular process convinced me to discard the final product. The process itself provided a more interesting opportunity for poster designs.
