Miami Nice Jazz Fest - 2013 - Stanley Clarke

MIAMI NICE JAZZ FESTIVAL 2013 (OCT. 23rd - Nov. 10th)

Opening Set - The French Horn
- Amongst Miami's musical driving force is "The French Horn", a collection of diverse musicians from different cultures creating a mix of old school jazz standards, gypsy classics, and a thriving world beat that accentuates the French Parisian foundation of their original music. Based in Miami, Florida, the band consists of drummer Shay Eischenl; both fretless electric bass played by Rodrigo Zambrano; and Geoff Saunders on the contrabass. The guitars are played by Eric Escanes; and Vincent Raffard, who is the ensemble's leader and vocalist as well as trumpeter. Pianist Max Farber completes the sterling rhythm section. Steffen Zeichner performs on violin with group.
Stanley Clarke (Four Time Grammy Winner)
Exploding into the jazz world in 1971, one of the first bassists in history to master both acoustic and electric bass with equal virtuosity, headliner selling out shows worldwide, noteworthy solo career and innovative film/TV scores, collaboration with other legends as George Duke, Chick Corea, Jeff Beck, etc..., he remarkably expanded boundaries of contemporary jazz.
The Harlem String Quartet, resident ensemble at the New England Conservatory of Music's Professional String Quartet Program, is a cutting-edge modern classical group that proves capable of nailing Clarke’s complex charts and demonstrates great capacity for content-rich improvisation.
