OP-lamp
recycling industrial waste

OP-lamp is an optical game with light and space, created out of waste from laser cutting of plywood.
Openwork panels created after cutting out various shapes, though being industrial waste, turned out to be a visually attractive material. The design was aimed at making the most of these unintended aesthetic effects.

laureate in Sustainable Lamp Competition, February 2020

The main inspiration for this project was the material itself. The design of the lamp emphasizes its value and exceptional qualities. The result is an intriguing spatial form that catches the viewer's eye and hypnotizes. The lamp provides atmospheric light and generates fascinating games of light and shadow.

Project OP-lamp can be adapted to various types of openwork, not only circles, but also many other motifs that are cut in plywood.
