The book "Watch Music" offers a unique experience of visually feeling the music you are accustomed to listening to. Synesthesia refers to feeling more than one sensation, such as sight or hearing, even though one is stimulated. The synesthesia characteristics of typography can show the diversity and freshness of expression that occurs when music symbols and sheet music are met.
I wanted to introduce unique works and artistic activities that expressed music as art, and to express the speed and grand atmosphere of music, or soft notes and elegant melodies through typography.
책 watch music은 듣는것이 익숙한 음악을 시각적으로 느껴보는 독특한 경험을 제공한다. 공감각은 시각이나 청각 등 하나의 감각 자극을 받았음에도 두가지 이상의 감각을 느끼는 것을 말한다. 타이포그래피의 공감각적 특성은 음악기호와 악보를 만났을 때 생기는 표현의 다양성과 신선함을 보여줄 수 있다. 듣는 음악을 미술 혹은 디자인으로 표현해 고정관념을 깨준 독특한 작품과 예술활동들을 소개하고, 타이포그래피를 통해 음악의 빠르기와 웅장한 분위기, 또는 여린 음과 우아한 선율등을 표현해보고자 한다.
