The central theme of my thesis project revolves around women who have lost their identity due to long term abuse and neglect and the journey to restore their rightful sense of self. The female persona in the narrative is represented by an abandoned house in a state of serious disrepair. The transformation begins when a lone carpenter happens upon the damaged bones of what was once a beautiful home and slowly, painstakingly begins to nurture it back to life. Throughout the piece, the carpenter begins to understand how to relate to the emotional needs of the house in order to help her heal.
