The design shows the didactic building of the Warsaw School of Economics. The designed facility is a contemporary response to the characteristic and pre-war architecture of the basic buildings of the Warsaw School of Economics by Jan Koszczyc-Witkiewicz. The most visible manifestation of this is the "modular" facade shaping system, in which each module is a field of lighting for teaching rooms, composed in a specific way. elevations and horizontal stripes of attics, which results in a more modern and universal character in the reception of the proposed architecture. The second, important reference to the historical architecture in the form of a characteristic dome, a stepped pyramid of the skylight of the main SGH building stretched over the main hall. A similar shape of the skylight is proposed, however, on the basis of a "spatial negative" of this element, which, in the event of implementation, will start to function not as an element added to the main body, but "subtracted" from it. It is not only an intellectual game with spatial forms, the cubature created in this way has a huge impact on the nature of the internal space of objects and interior solutions. In the elevations, by slightly protruding, the functional (cubature) zones and the central zone of illumination of the common space were emphasized; the composition of the side elevations reproduces the general principle of the cross-section of the main building. Greenery inside a building is a very important element in organizing public spaces. Almost the entire atrium, terrace and all common spaces are "lined" with greenery. The SGH building is located on the border of the "green lungs of Warsaw", ie Pola Mokotowskie, and the highly urbanized urban tissue. Concrete and glass are not a natural environment for humans, therefore introducing a large number of appropriate plant species will have a positive effect on the well-being of users. The building, thanks to its form, and in particular the terraced atrium, is very well lit, taking into account the local plan and the set program. A lot of natural light reaches the interior, thanks to which all utility spaces throughout the building have access to daylight. The competition is organized by the Association of Architects in the Republic of Poland.
