Lets Play With Type #2: Made and Found Objects
The first book that came most instinctually to my mind was Life of Pi. I
As I am quite dyslexic with the splendid company of ADHD, finding a read that is both entirely captivating and readable is not short of a mission. Life of Pi is one of those tales that doesn’t use complex language yet manages to illustrate picture so in depth you forget you’ve been reading for an hour. The story is about a boy stuck in the ocean with a tiger. The plot remain in the ocean for the majority of the read so the question beckons, how can one keep talking about an ocean for chapters on end AND remain entertaining? The author Martel is one of the best writer I’ve ever witnessed. He manages to peak my interest for hours while describe the ocean, sunsets, storms and sea creatures to the point where you feel as if the setting changes per chapter. I knew I wanted to incorporate the setting of the ocean in my cover as that I would consider it one or the main characters/themes.

I noticed my shriveled plant had been so neglected of proper sunlight that any touch or gust of wind would result in it crackling apart. I began to shape the dead leaves into letters and found myself with the very thing I had revoked my plant of. LIFE. The symbolism is grand as the book discusses the decay of life combatting the will of survival. Not to mention the jungle island they visit with the green vines I found this plant perfect. I made the “Of” out of the soil my plant grew from and the Pi from an old Zebra striped sorority letter that I would’ve thrown out if this project didn’t come a week earlier. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a project as much as this one. I found my self working for hours to construct a book cover that I would deem fitting to find in your local Barnes and Noble. I hope you maybe I have perhaps convinced you to read this insane read. 🥺 I've read it 3x.
