This shoot was influenced by a blog photographer called Iilva, who did a photoshoot called 'pure as snow'. After looking at her most successful photo from that shoot i decided that this was something i wanted to attempt, and make a response to. So i arranged for my model to wear little make up, and for her hair to be how she wanted it as i felt this best replicates the idea of 'natural'. I chose for all my images to be black and white as i wanted them to remain simple and i felt this best presented the snow. When editing i decided i didnt want to over complicate the images, and so i chose to alter the brightness and contrast and leave the images to speak for themselves. One thing i would change about this image is i would ensure the snow closest to the camera was more in focus and less blurred, as i feel this lets the image down.
This image is one of my personal favourites taken from the shoot. I used photoshoot to darken the image as i felt this was quite effective in making the snow stand out even more against the dark background. I really like the models expression in this image as its quite natural requiring little effort which is what i was after. Whilst editing i only touched upon altering the brightness and contrast to gain the darkness in the image, i believe that this draws the viewers attention towards the model which is what i aimed for as i want her to be centre focus. If i could re take this image i would go back and ensure that the top of the models hair was not cut out of the photo as i would have liked the snowflakes in her hair to have shown.
This is my best image taken from this shoot. I really liked the concept of the image, the way that the model is to the side allowing room for the natural leaves dusted with snow to also be in view. I also really liked the shadow casted by the bush onto the models face on one side as i felt this gave the image more depth and contrast. Again, i feel that the models expression successfully represented the idea of purity and natural being. I felt that the clarity and quality in this photo was of a high standard which helped to present the image as a success.
I also chose this image as one of my favourites from the shoot. One of the reasons for this is because i liked the way the model is in full focus whilst the background is blurred out, making the model the center focus. Another reason for this is that i liked the models position and facial expression in the image, as it makes the image seem effortless and natural. I altered the brightness and contrast of the image a little using photoshop, however i wanted the image to remain simple and for it to speak for itself. This image is also a favourite due to the fact that the models whole head is in the photo, whereas in previous photos her hair has been cropped, i felt this made the image a lot more effective. One thing i would change about this image is the fact that it is not as clear as the other images, as the model moved slightly whilst it was being taken, if i could retake the image i would ensure that the model was still.

I really felt that this image successfully represented the idea of a snowy day. I really liked the way the snowflakes sat in the models hair, and how clear cut each snowflake appears. I also liked the highlights in the models hair as this adds tone and differentiation to the image. Again, i like the way the models face is center focus and the background of the snow-covered bush is blurred, however it still  remains a point of attention. I chose not to edit this image at all as i felt it was an extremely successful shot in capturing my aim which was purity and the idea of natural tied in with the snowy weather.
This is the final image out of all the successful photos taken on this shoot. Like the previous photos, the image obtains a sense of purity aided by the simplistic colours of black and white and the natural hair and make up. I really liked the models positioning and the way the fence almost pointed towards her, making her the centre focus. I hardly edited this photo, like the others i just touched it up using brightness and contrast.
