Inspirations
Marvel's Infinity Gauntlet
This is an interesting armor piece not only because of its design, with monochromatic colors and pops of color in the stones, but also because of its fictional power. The glove is supposed to harness the power of all of the stones. I can think about this idea of multiple pieces coming together to do a certain job or power for the user.

Larson's jewelry was designed by Irene Neuwirth and Johansson's by Sonia Boyajian. I like how delicate these pieces are and how Johansson's has connecting pieces from her rings to the wrist cuff. Something designed to fit on a hand could be neat.

Petit Pli
This company makes sustainable clothing for children that can stretch with them as they grow up. The stretchy fabric and pleats let them accomplish this. Something that folds or expands out is an element that I could experiment with in my own design. I also like that their packaging can fold into a toy for the child, another sustainable component, and it turns into something else that is unexpected.

Jet Pack
The previous packaging design led me to discover this DIY. Something that goes on your back with straps like a backpack could be interesting. I also like the pinwheels that show the movement/steam of the jetpack. To describe an invisible power or what the object does, the addition of an element like this might help.

Yonghui Duan Jewelry
I like how these pieces are triangle shaped and they remind me of spears. The metal and thinness makes them very sleek in design. They can also be held only using one or two fingers which is a small yet effective way to connect an object to the body.

More Jewelry
This reminds me of handcuffs haha, but I like this small connection between two people. This is another effective ring/finger connection that I may incorporate into a design.

The flow of this piece is really nice and the way it connects them. It reminds me of earbuds which are usually known to get tangled but here it looks effortless and clean in design.

Interesting Glasses
These glasses, that look seamlessly normally in frame design, actually make the lights around you look like hearts. This idea of turning something you see into something else that only you experience is interesting.

These mirrored glasses let you lay down and view things from a 90-degree angle. I like this idea of changing perspective and keeping your body in one place while your eyes seem to be in another.
Brainstorming Sketches & Writing
Hand Scanner/ Reviver
This is my favorite idea at the moment because I think making something flexible out of cardboard would be interesting and using the material for something more light/delicate. I want it to flex with your fingers, the power giving you abilities without the heaviness and weight of an extra object on the body. I'm a little hesitant about the power itself though. Here I sketched that the power will revive plants (and maybe animals?) which might work well with a nature/organic theme but this object also looks to be something like a scanner. What might be scanned to benefit the user? The power comes out of the palm of the user which I also like because it can be directed effortlessly. The design interacts with touch, wearing the equipment and interacting with plants or elements, and maybe proprioception, the sense of being aware of our body movements. I was thinking about how this device might control your fingers and you start to move with the device subconsciously. It senses something dead in the area and your hand will automatically adjust to reviving it. Maybe different hand/fingers movements let you do different things/powers with the device.
Animal Translator
The sense of hearing is explored here through a simple shaped object that acts as a translator between a person and an animal.
VR Environment Glasses
To interact with the sense of sight more, this design has interchangeable environment inserts that act as a virtual reality layer to what the real world looks like to the user. These inserts can also be layered so the user feels like they're in the jungle, snowy mountains or desert at the same time.
Food Transformation Backpacks
This design is more based off of survival purposes and wearing the power rather than the object giving you the ability.
Models & Revisions
Cardboard Model
Revised/Updated Sketch
I thought a better power/concept would be a piece of equipment that produces water. I imagine fire fighters using it or even campers to help eliminate forest fires. This arm piece lets you control the water flow easily and it can come out of the front for a more powerful stream or out of your palm when directing the water onto smaller fires. The wrist band absorbs water molecules from the air to give you a continuous flow. As for added materials, I like the look of the corrugation on the corners so I don't want to add too many more things other than paint or spray paint to give it a better look.
