A Year With Children: 2012

Project Description

Design the exhibition showcasing the 2012 student work of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s annual Learning through Art education program.

Solution

In an effort to maximize existing wall space for artwork, signage and supporting materials for each class were pulled off the wall and integrated into modular shelf systems, comprised of “fin” structures. The colorful fins lent a sculptural and playful feel to the space, but a white edge allowed for a minimal presence when approached from the front. This allowed visitors to observe the artwork with minimal distractions.
