step 1: research & brainstorming
ray fontaine hearing aid design

decorative and delicate elements to a piece that's usually more bland. could smaller pieces have their own function besides visual aesthetic?
using aid for balance purposes rather than hearing?
franz erhard walther; "walther and santiago sierra demonstraing work no. 46  from    walther's first workset 'Sehkanal 1968'"

people being closely connected (through small tube) yet still at a good physical distance from each other. connection of minds, reading minds? immediately understanding someone else's perspective?
infobionic’s mome kardia remote ecg monitor

simple and direct function. small and stays on the body. could it monitor more than just a heart beat? other ailing parts of the body? could it detect mental health issues as well?

extension of the body, but the imagery of it makes it look creepier, uncanny valley. bold design. picking things up from the ground - basic function. what other body parts could be extended for a useful purpose?

1. hearing aid for balance - hearing aid that emits a sound that improves a user's balance. senses: hearing and equilibrioception. can be used for everything from yoga to tight-roping
2. reading minds - binocular-like tubes that force two users to look into each other's eyes. inner lining of the tubes using electrical signals to transmit thoughts to each other. sense: sight and possibly nociception (feeling pain). can be used to resolve conflicts
3. health monitor - heart-shaped device that displays a user's pain levels, ranging from physical ailments to mental ones. senses: sight and nociception. can be used in emergency health situations, doctor visits, etc.
step 2: models and revisions
need a secure way to attach straps to heart
acrylic paint can be an additional material - for color and decoration
