INSPIRATIONS/ARTISTS
1973
Bruce Nauman
I'm really interested in involving color experiences within my Human Centered Design, and I think that Nauman does a wonderful job of creating a vivid, colorful, and emotion-causing experience for viewers. I love how the focus is on the light/color, rather than the design of the wood/room.
1968
Lygia Clark
Clark's human centered designs are often involving interpersonal relationships, which I think is amazing and moving. I was drawn to this design because of the way it connects two people so intimately, and I also love how it alters ones sight/vision, which related to our upcoming sense-centered design. This product provides a closeness that could otherwise not be necessarily achieved.
CONCEPTS/IDEAS
- glasses that can sense if anyone around you is dangerous
- a hat that unfolds into an umbrella
- something that eliminates harmful bacteria in your close proximity so you can go near/be with sick or contagious people
- goggles that can be controlled to change in lens/color which changes the colors/tones we see
- something that senses nutrients or lack of nutrients in food
SKETCHES
WRITING: Multi-Colored Helmet Goggles
My design is a plastic cube helmet which rests on the top of your head, and covers your eyes. Each side of the cube is a different transparent color, which when you wear it, alters your vision, making it so that everything you view is in the hue of the color you're looking through. This design is a unique fashion accessory as well as an interactive human-centered design which involves the sense of sight.
