Social Media Strategy: Plush - Think Sofas

I am responsible for managing all social media channels for Plush - Think Sofas.

My approach to managing social media channels is customer focused with a view to maintain brand style and tone of voice whilst constantly developing and evolving the content mix to suit the social zeitgeist.

Social media now forms a vital part of the customer journey and marketing funnel and provides an extra layer of user experience between the more traditional platforms of advertising and company website. It is a powerful tool in building desire and can be maximised to result in strong conversions - from email sign ups to sales.

Below I have highlighted a few things (but not all) that form part of my essential strategy.

Strategy | Copywriting| Digital Design | Implementation
Curation:

To create a visually appealing feed is important - for it to also be effective is most important. Therefore, my strategy when curating a social media feed is to first develop the brand pillars and then use these to develop a meaningful mix of content which builds on these pillars.

Planning the content beautifully is an art form and is most important on channels such as Pinterest and Instagram where the feed can be seen as a grid. However, regardless of channel, content needs to be on-point and on brand.

Developing brand hashtags and hashtag sets for posts is another important strategy which feeds into the pillars and can also help to maximise engagement and brand exposure.
UGC:

User generated content (UGC) is one of the yard sticks which can be used to measure brand success - when there's a lot it means you have managed to generate a loyal, interested and engaged following.

Key to building this kind of following is effective community management. Effective community management goes beyond answering questions - it's a strategy in itself. It's about developing relationships with customers and followers and being part of their lives. Celebrating their purchases, and sometimes even rewarding them for their efforts to create beautiful imagery for your brand.

UGC is an amazing source of real, earned content. Customers and followers love it and it is an essential mix of a structured social media feed.

I am very proud of both the amount and quality of UGC I have received in my work for Plush - Think Sofas. It is a testament to the engaged community I have fostered over 5+ years.
Competitions:

I have organised and run a number of competitions for Plush - Think Sofas. Competitions can be an amazing way to build a following, increase engagement, increase your customer database and raise brand awareness.

The competitions I have run have been very successful - in 2020 alone I was able to increase the customer database by +50,000 with strategically planned competitions. Not to mention increasing the followings on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest and raising engagement levels to all time highs.
Pinning with Purpose:

Using Google Analytics, I have established the importance of Pinterest in the channel mix - so now it all about pinning with a tangible purpose.

I developed new creative to specifically appeal to Pinterest users which also feeds into the overall content pillars and points to blogs and products on the Plush Website to increase web traffic and conversions.
Other key components:

I have also developed strategies for Stories, Reels, and am currently working on Tik Tok too. Some of the most effective projects I have worked on are Instagram and Facebook 'Live' sessions. I was responsible for running and presenting live FAQ sessions, Q&A sessions. I have also worked with staff to produce in-showroom demonstrations and product reviews which have been very well received by followers and resulted in many sales.
