Trying grid layouts

As I previously discussed with Geraint, I plan to do large grids at the back of my book showing more of each character. The front of the book shows one hero shot and two back up shots, so at the back, I can use more images to show the personality of the character more, to give the reader more insight.
In one of  my zooms where I mentioned this, Chris spoke about playing with sizes, so not all the images have to be the same size so I played with that idea first.

I used the same canvas on procreate as my previous layout attempt, double A4 with a line down the centre to look like a double page. I started with ‘lust’ as I wanted to work with one of my simpler characters first, and I picked 12 images of this character, then imported them into procreate with each image on its own layer. I picked my favourite 2 images, and made those my largest images, putting one in the top left corner on the left page, and the other in the bottom left corner on the right page. With the 10 images left I divided them equally onto each page, making sure ones on the same page weren’t too similar, and then I made them all the same size. On each page I put the five images around the larger one to create my layout. I think this is definitely more fun than having them all the same size and still allows you to see more of the character.

For ‘greed’ I only had 10 images I wanted to work with for my grid, so I did the same thing of picking my 2 favourites, making them larger and putting them in the corners. I made the remaining images smaller and lined them up in a similar way to my ‘lust’ layout but there was quite a big gap, so I tried evenly spacing them out, making it slightly more messy. I do like how it turned out, however I will experiment more, and consider doing different grids for each character depending on how many images I plan to use.
