Wanting to emphasize the unique process in which Lakeside Bagel make their bagels and the lakeside location of their shop, the imagery of this design was created with symbolic meaning. On one hand, this logo was made to represent a bagel being submerged into boiling water. On the other hand, it was intended to represent a lakeside sunrise that customers will enjoy while consuming their product. With Lakeside Bagel being a staple within the Edinboro community, I opted for a simplistic design in an effort to create an easily recognizable and memorable logo, making sure to include “estd. 1995” to highlight the history of their company. I also decided to base my design strictly in circular forms instead of using more angular shapes to promote a warm and welcoming feel. Of course, a bagel boiled down to its simplest form is a circle. In an attempt to compliment the circular shapes within this logo, I chose a curved and somewhat quirky font for the lettering. This unique typeface contributes to the design’s overall modern yet friendly vibe.
