Original Characters Sticker Project
I created a series of stickers, where I created some original characters that are heavily influenced in American comics as well as Japanese anime/manga in style. I wanted to creat something that would make people want to have these stickers on personal items of their, such as water bottles, notebooks, or even laptops. I also wanted to create something unique; something that not many others have done, which is where I came up with the "pop out of circle" effect. In here, the characters bottom halves are cut off by the circle in the back, while having much of their upper body coming out of it, giving a very interesting effect. I have listed these for sale as stickers on the site, Redbubble, which can be seen here:

The Process

I started out with a couple of sketches to create the characters. I began thinking what exactly what I was going to do, so I drew many things from swords, poses, facial expressions, among many other things. Here are some of the drawings I made, some of which  ended up being the basis for my final versions:
drafts
After I created these drawings, I proceeded to create the drafts. I started out with the girl with the katana first, then the boy with the dagger, anf finally the steampunk girl. Here are some drafts prior to the final versions. I did not like the first hair that was created for the dagger boy, which was changed for the hair he currently has:
Outlines
Here is the outlines of these characters, where we can see how they are made:
Conclusion
In conclusion, I had a lot of fun creating these. This project showed me the true power of Illustrator, and has inspired me to use it for even more projects in the future, possibly creating even more original characters.
