Mt. Fuji

Here we have a recent illustration I did of Mount Fuji in Japan.
For as long as I can remember I have always loved Japanese culture and history. And because of this I recently started to try and capture that love in some illustrations.
This started of with some very simple shape building and was planned to be just flat colours without gradients. However, as the illustration developed (and accidentally clicking on the gradient tool) it quickly turned into something else.
I used multiple point gradients within the individual shapes and tried my best to keep the colour spectrum tight (sticking to reds, pinks and purples.) Funnily enough, this actually started out with a lot of natural colours, blue Skys, great mountains etc.
I may very well do something in a similar style very soon.
