Tips for Capturing Photos with a Tripod | Dawn Emerick
Capturing photos with a tripod may sound easy, but there are tips one needs to know to get quality images. Highlighted tips will help generate sharp prints using a tripod.
Utilize the Mirror Lock-up Quality on the Camera
A digital camera has a mirror inside that exposes the image sensor when the shutter release button is pressed. The movement of the mirror causes shakes on the camera while on a tripod affecting photo clarity. The shake is mostly visible when the shutter speed is slowed down. Activate the mirror lock-up feature on the camera manually to eliminate the movement.
Work with 2- Second Timer
The 2-second timer property prevents camera shaking upon pressing the shutter button. There will always be a minor shake even when the camera is resting on a tripod during shooting.
