Zarza is a biodesign project where my teammate and I had to go through the biodesign process begining with a biologic entity, in this case a fruit: the blackberry.

We had to investigate with a biologist, specific characteristics of the fruit and functionality of their selected parts, generate descriptive models and then abstractions to define concepts that would then be translated in a design concept.

We decided to create a residential project inspired in a blackberry
The building uses solar energy through a Graetzel solar cell creating artificial photosynthesis.
It distributes the resources through a central core that helps with plants’ capillarity process to transport and purify water.
Pigment like filters on windows help to protect from UV rays.
The whole distribution from the apartments to the parking is inspired in the blackberry form.
