Project 1: Modern Renaissance Painting

Prompted to reimagine a famous renaissance painting, I used this woman's face as the emphasized object of the piece, changing tones and supporting features to highlight. I first imported the face and clouded sky to act as the base, then added the carnival scene from the famed “Astroworld” album; aiming to convert the original painting to emulate Travis Scott’s cover. To further imitate the work on the album cover, I adjusted the color then vibrance to modernize the work. This additionally created better contrast and visual interest from the dull starting composition. After finishing the imagery, there was wasted space boarding most of the upper half. I then chose to completely rework it by taking the recognized text and font of “Astroworld” and the motto of the tour that surrounds it, including that on the upper section as almost a title and indicator of what I was looking to accomplish. The challenge was logically adding the different aspects without detracting from what I wanted to remain as the visual hierarchy. As for the final product, I am pleased with the design aesthetics and how cohesive it came to be!
