“In State of Falling” is an installation re-creating a children’s fort with
blankets, bedsheets, and a duvet, on the ceiling of the fort there is a noose
made out of wire, felt, and ribbon (approx. 340x220x175cm) and was done
in 2019. This piece was about capturing an activity I used to do often as
a child which was to make forts but taking a darker turn by including a
noose, an indication of my mental health as a teen. I wanted this piece to
tell a story by itself, having a fun, soothing environment be obstructed by a
powerful, negative symbol.
