“Alphabet” is a textile piece made out of abstract letters made with felt
that were then stitched onto a denim jacket (56x76x30cm) and it was done
in 2019. This experimental project surged after I grew interested in felting
from American artist Charlie Best. Here, I took the alphabet and found
new ways to visualize it: first I did cutouts to which I compiled on top of
each other to make it seem like an alphabet soup, very scrambled. Then, I
applied the textile aspect to it which was then put on a jacket to be worn.
The colors and the wool both link back to Merida, the coldest region in
Venezuela, and one I visited often as a child.
