The story was about how men and childless women generally advance further in their careers than do women who take time out to have children. In my mind's eye I saw it as a board game, and so that became my design solution.
So I wanted to celebrate the great Robert Crumb's "Big Brother and the Holding Company" album cover. Ace music critic Andrew Dansby wrote the words and I got to draw. One thing I have to confess: the "Swede" is just reciting names from the IKEA catalog.
