Compact Bedroom for the Pandemic
Feb 2021
Project Description
An assignment for Interior Design class.
In a society of very limited space, covid pandemic demanded more natural air circulation.
As many resided and transmigrated to a work-from-home situation, a bedroom that's both small and compact, yet spacious enough for circulation is needed.
The 3 by 4 room is in an attic with a sloped ceiling,
3 meter at its highest and 1 meter at its lowest.
It also comes with a 1 meter wide balcony.
It also comes with a 1 meter wide balcony.
Its user is a male college student
with basic needs of a
graphic designer.
The concept involves a cross ventilation system with a small operable skylight, and an air grille at the lower part of the balcony and main door. A simple washing basin is placed on the balcony perpendicular to main door for hygiene purposes. Tables and bed can be folded to create more space as needed.
