La Grande-Motte
Born in the 60s from the willingness of Charles de Gaulle to develop tourism in the French province of Languedoc as a response to the success of Spanish destinations.
The round shapes and stacked elements, which can now seem retro or goofy, are the work of the designer Jean Balladur.
