My objective behind the project was to highlight issues concerning superstitions and crows. It is in human nature to look down on anything which doesn’t live up to their expectations. In many cultures, crows are treated as death bringers, nuisance, etc. They are highly susceptible to all kinds of bad rumors. I didn’t want anymore of this injustice to be carried on against such magnificent beings. They deserve to be respected, they deserve to be seen as beautiful creatures and not to be disliked and prejudiced because of their deep black color.
These handrawn eye catching illustrations, using ink medium, with the use of contrasting white color, are conveyed in a way to enhance the real beauty of the color and the being itself, hence putting a bold outlook towards the subject . Crows are a part of nature and are beautiful and mighty as any other bird. Through my project, I hope to communicate the real nature of the crows rather than what actually people see.
