Research Station in Exploradores Bay

Design of a research station located in Exploradores Bay (Aysén, Chile).
The project explores the use of scaffolding system, wood panels and fabric to design an habitable space on territorial isolation.
Cornerstones are materiality, transportation, montage and dismantling.
Its progress was based on the design of a shelter for researchers and visitors, which begins with the decision to form an North-South axis, from which all facilities are arranged in the transverse direction: service area (for clothing change), hygienic services area and a resting area. Each program is defined by one module built with scaffolding, prefabricated wooden panels and fabric covering.
