Poster that I designed to promote the lecture that I gave as part of RISD's Lowthorpe Traveling Fellowship. Based on a photograph that I took of Thorbjörn Andersson's built landscape design. Created using Photoshop and InDesign.
Poster that I created for permanent (or semi-permanent) placement in the Landscape Architecture department's halls at RISD. Created using Photoshop and InDesign, real dimensions measure 39.25" tall by 27.5" wide.
This is a sampling of the poster, slides, and photos that I created/presented as part of the RISD Lowthorpe Traveling Fellowship. The travel occurred in late August/early September 2013 and the lecture was presented at RISD on October 3rd, 2013.
The premise of the project was to do some first-hand research of the post-industrial revitalization efforts that have taken place in the city of Norrköping, Sweden (Sweden's "Manchester"...or "Lowell" if you prefer a New England analogy). During my travel I met with people from the local university and city archives department as well as the lead landscape architect who had worked on redesigning the industrial landscape's public spaces. For the lecture, I presented a general overview of the city and then guided the audience on a slide-show tour of its industrial landscape, describing former/current uses of the public spaces and buildings and discussing some of the revitalization strategies that had been utilized.
