Self-Care Awareness which is timely and relevant in this tough time. Based on our research, Self-Care awareness month is celebrated during September, but personally, We think it should be practiced and celebrated everyday to remind us that taking care of ourselves, first and foremost, is essential. By creating designs for eco bag that promote self-care/ self-love people will know the message of true beauty in loving yourself first. We all tend to put others needs before our own and it is crucial to remember, that we cannot fill another’s cup from our own empty vessel. True self-care is not self centered nor selfish; it is simply keeping yourself that focus of your own life. Same with our first proposal we’re thinking of colorful yet calming graphics that compliment with bold typography and has one to three words; either english or filipino words. (E.g. “YOU ARE QUEER ENOUGH” “WIP (Work In Progress)” “PROTECT YOUR PEACE” “HEALING IS NOT LINEAR” “FOLLOW YOUR FLOW” “STRIKE YOUR FLAWS” “AKO MUNA”)
Pride Month theme for Eco Bag. I just realized that RDS has been quiet on its stand for LGBTQIA+, unlike our competitors who have been strongly supporting this community and not afraid to embrace diversity. SM Store have tied up with international Drag Queens (Aquaria & Manila Luzon), international artist (Troye Sivan), and Famous local influencer (Mimiyuuuh) for marketing purposes that really helped SM to promote their brand. I think in this small project but big impact, we can voice out and support this colorful society by creating designs for eco bag that brings positivity, fun, and inspirational message. We’re already thinking of colorful graphics that compliment with bold typography and has one to three words in Filipino Gay lingo. (E.g. “KAVOUGERA” “PAK! AWRA!” “KERI MO YAN!” “STRONG KA GHOURL!” “CHAROT” “GANDARA PARK” “BORTA” “LOVE WINS”) We hope this would get a shot to promote love and support for our fellow LGBTQIA+ members, and show that RDS is a retail company that embraces diversity and an organization that is free from discrimination.
