Lyric Video 'Roothey Hue' (Cel Animation)

Lyric Video made for Siddhant Mishra for his first song 'Roothey Hue'
The story is about a couple who are stuck in different cities due to the lockdown. Throughout the song, the male character reassures the female character that they will be together soon and towards the end, they meet.
The whole video was done using frame-by-frame (cel animation). I used simple line drawings with minimal colours. It took about a month to make the video from start to finish.

Rough sketches of some shots and the final animation
The characters miss each other and are shown going about their daily lives as a mirror image of each other - hence, they're on two different pages.
The male character running was time-taking and hard to animate but very worth it. He sends a message to the female character which uplifts her mood.
The walk-cycle of both the characters was difficult to animate but really lends to the narrative of the video. The two different locations they were in fades away and they meet in the next shot.
The characters' individual locations fade away to show the sun setting for both of them. Whereas the rest of the video employs minimal colouring, this shot allows for more vibrant colour to communicate that both the characters are finally happy to be with each other.
The last shot of the video is when the male and female character finally meet. The union is represented with falling flowers
