This project was all about looking into what wearable art is and all of the different themes within it, I loved how broad this project was.

I started by looking into the different pieces of art I could make and what stood out to me, I chose to make some wings as they aren’t an everyday item of clothing and I thought of many possible outcomes I could achieve.

I played around with different designs and thought of different materials I could use, I then came up with my final design plan which I then took into the print / textile workshop with me.

I then played around with different shapes that I took from the butterfly wings inspiration, to then make a screen so that I could print my design onto the fabric.

Finally I experimented with a few different materials to find which worked best for printing. I then mixed up some paints and chose a final color palette ready to start layering up my designs onto my final piece.

This was my final outcome as I decided to keep my project more about the process. For my first time screen printing, I was really happy with how this turned out.
