A gouache illustration to bring out the inherent pattern and rhythm of Nature and the universe and encompass the various meanings of the same.
The illustration features a humpback whale, known for its singing. The “ghunghroo” (a string of tinkering bells) wrapped around the mammal, accentuates it’s rhythmic movement, just as it does classical Indian dance. The fingerprint style in the backdrop is symbolic of the rhythm in human form as well as the waves of the sea. Furthermore, the illustration has been used for mock promotional flyers for a music festival. A continuing pattern was created, inspired by the rows of flyers that fill the walls of metropolitan cities.
