2021 has been about following my wildest, most unpredictable impulses. Thus far, those urges include creating an Instagram portfolio of my own. After so many days dwelling on what I should post for the first time, I finally found what match.
I've adored collage art for so long yet, I never actually made my own until now. The idea of layers after layers that refused to be defined by one specific description truly made my core excited every time.
These are all... me. The being that refuses to bow to the labels you've so carelessly bestowed upon yours truly.
𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕕𝕖𝕥𝕒𝕚𝕝𝕤
The title I chose for this piece came from what I concluded of myself. Someone once referred to me as an anomaly. Personally, that's the only label worth hearing. His exact words were:
"Your drive, your out-of-trend, helicopter-view mindset. You're an anomaly. But it's the anomaly that destroys the trend. Take that negative connotation around and you get someone who changes the world."
It's astonishing how the things you said to others can stoutly latch themselves, even if you may not remember it.
And I just had to include the fist bump to remind myself that ms.rona still exist.

I wanted to create a seamless collage where the first and third post are a mirror image of one another. The concept was indeed quite giddy but the result didn't disappoint.

My giddy-self reflected all of the elements in the first post, but changed the center piece entirely. They were too bold and gallant and I just had to show their other side.

This was made possible through the Instagram story! Easy peasy lemon squeezy, all you need is a mixture of patience and anger, and a tint of "IT NEEDS TO BE ALIGN" now and then. Oh and, did I mention that this was my first time working with Illustrator?
