Sailing boat Restoration Project

This was a restoration project of two old sailboats. This sailing boat is approximately 110 years old. She is in the process of a full restoration, many of her ribs had rot and needed replacing. Additionally, many of her structural braces had to be replaced.
I made new mahogany ribs by heating the wood with steam, adding epoxy resin, and then attaching it to a mould and letting it dry. I then glued it to the boat on the inside and added screws from the outside.
This is a different type of sailing boat, a cabin cruiser. She also needed a lot of care and here I carefully masked all the edges in preparation for the first coat of varnish.
This was a long term project, I worked together with friends to complete these boats and this was a great experience to again work with my hands.
